Arthur Penhaligon thought his days of summoning cosmic horrors were over. Having faked his death to escape his past as a Void Cultist, he spends his immortality knitting terrible sweaters and guarding the Black-Salt Lighthouse. But when he discovers a pulsating, multi-eyed egg on the beach, his solitude is shattered. He names the hatchling "Squish," intending to keep it as a pet, unaware that he is raising a baby god that reflects his own deep-seated guilt—and that the ocean is waking up to claim it back.
