Synopsis
Nyx is a young Seattle occultist obsessed with the romantic aesthetic of death, believing she can summon an ancient werewolf prince to be her fated mate. She awakens Varick the Rotting, a desiccated, undead Viking-era werewolf who possesses none of the romance she imagines and all of the hunger she fears.
Under the relentless downpour of a Seattle night, Nyx performs a forbidden blood ritual at Lake View Cemetery, expecting to bind a powerful, brooding supernatural lover. However, when the iron doors of the mausoleum grind open, she discovers that the legends left out the rotting flesh and the insatiable hunger of the creature she has foolishly invited back into the world.
